Our methodology
We'd rather be transparent and roughly right than precise and misleading. Here's how the numbers work.
Estimating your footprint
Our calculator uses published average emission factors across the biggest drivers of a personal footprint — diet, driving, flying, home energy, and general consumption — plus a baseline for shared infrastructure emissions everyone carries. The result is an estimate in tonnes of CO₂e per year, meant to be directionally accurate, not a formal audit.
Choosing credits
Your subscription funds a diversified portfolio rather than a single project type. Every project is screened on four tests: additionality, permanence, independent measurement, and no double-counting. We favour a mix of nature-based and engineered removal to balance cost, impact, and durability.
Honesty first
Offsetting does not cancel the harm of emitting — reducing your emissions always comes first. We publish what your funding bought and retire every tonne transparently. As our methodology improves, we'll update this page.
